Homelessness is Not Normal

Our city is rapidly growing and experiencing a housing and homelessness crisis. Leveraging the expertise of policy makers, community activists, social service providers, and affordable housing designers, this panel explores how we got here, what is being done to address it, what more can be done, and how design can help. Join us for a deeper perspective on why homelessness is so pervasive in our society, and to better understand the necessary changes to improve conditions — with design helping to lead the way.

Panelists include:

Deborah Kafoury, Multnomah County Chair
Kevin Cavanaugh, Guerrilla Development
Kaia Sand, Street Roots
Stacy Borke, Transition Projects
Ashley Henry, Business for a Better Portland
