Millennial Thinking: Human-Centered Design for Problems Outside of the Classroom

Busting out of their academic silos, teams of interdisciplinary students from the University of Portland will present their culminating user experience and product design projects from a newly offered course: Design Thinking and Cross-Disciplinary Research. This course draws from the strength of interdisciplinary teamwork of students from the Arts & Sciences and Business schools, introducing them to design thinking as a lens for applied research. Teams will discuss the skills they have developed as ethnographers, interviewers, visual thinkers, strategists, and storytellers, and how those skills have been applied to address real-world problems for organizations within the Portland community.
