Your Healthy Home, a Green-Design workshop
The Your Healthy Home Workshop is planned as one of a series of three, community based, DIY information sessions that are intended to demonstrate to residents of Portland neighborhoods how they can create homes that are healthy, resilient and prepared for emergencies or service outages.
The concept of a prepared, healthy or resilient homes draws upon current thinking in the America’s design and construction industry. The National Research Council, defines resilience as "the ability to prepare and plan for, absorb, recover from, and more successfully adapt to adverse events.
The program will feature a passive home project being built by Birdsmouth Construction in SE Portland. The speakers will include, Keyan Mizani, homeowner and partner at eMZed Architecture LLCJ; Joshua Salinger, Founder & CEO, Birdsmouth Construction, LLC and Scott Kosmecki, HingeBuild; all of Portland.
Your Healthy Home, the first of three workshop sessions is scheduled for Wednesday, April 26th, from 6:30 to 8:45 pm. It will be held at TaborSpace, 5441 SE Belmont St. Portland, OR 97215.
