In partnership with six different hosts and venues across the city, Design Week Portland offers the Core Track of events, with one event taking place each day of the week. Discussions and activities include something for everyone, from the future of the city’s architecture, to the investigation of voice, to a talk show interviewing some of the most interesting design personalities in town. We've even got something for crafty cat people.

We hope you'll join us for some (or all!) of the Core Track events. We've included descriptions of a few of the upcoming Core Track events, with the full listing below.

From a Whisper to Machines
The role of voice in shifting experience
Wednesday, April 18, 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM

Voice informs and shapes our experience, often in ways we don't consider. Join us at Ziba, for a thoughtful and humorous evening as panelists offer brief presentations of their expert perspectives on voice and how it shifts perception and reality. Dive into a discussion to consider what is fake laughter, optimal voice, the voice of community and civic engagement, and more.

2nd Annual Sustainable Fashion Forum
Ethical and sustainable fashion talks
Saturday, April 21, 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

The Sustainable Fashion Forum is a one-day experience connecting fashion industry professionals and insiders with its community to spark an intimate and informative conversation about ethical and sustainable fashion. The event includes two panel discussions, two keynotes, a live fashion show and presentation, followed by happy hour and networking time with live music.

Undesign: An Evening of Unexpected Results
Exhibition & party deconstructing design
Tuesday, April 17, 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Join hosts Wieden+Kennedy for an interactive exhibition that is one part conceptual art, one part systems design, and one part design scratch-and-win. Thirty local collaborators (both non-designers and designers) will work within the confines of a brief—in which they are not allowed to interact with the physical act of the design process. Attendees will also be able to channel their inner conceptual artist and take part in a markerspace following the same process.
